Liguai 2021

Looking for a wine with a classic profile through a new world blend, Liguai is created. In this blend, the Syrah variety harvested at its optimal point of maturity is the backbone, providing structure, smoothness and aromas of black fruit. Next, the corpulent Cabernet Sauvignon, coming from our most clayey soils, provides power and spicy notes. Finally, the balanced Carmenere adds its distinctive silkiness and delicacy to the mix. Aging for 16 months in new and second-use French barrels provides the final touch, giving it complexity, volume and structure. The result is a wine of great character, with a harmonious combination of flavors and aromas.

TASTING NOTES

Bright and clean, ruby red in color with a violet rim, denoting high concentration. The nose shows intense notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by nuances of blackberries, plums and figs, which provide a balanced sensation of sweetness. It also has an herbaceous touch characteristic of Carmenere and slight aromas of cedar and tobacco from its ageing in barrels. The palate has a smooth entry with a firm and well-balanced structure, black fruit flavors of blackberry and blueberry complemented by notes of currants, plums and dried figs. It is slightly spicy with hints of vanilla and tobacco from its time in oak. It has soft but present tannins that give it a silky and pleasant texture with an elegant and harmonious finish.

PAIRING

This style of wine requires a more elaborate gastronomy, therefore, long cooked and highly seasoned meats make an excellent pairing, also cured cheeses and grilled vegetables harmonize perfectly.
